The natural
features are large regions from north to south
North German lowland, mid-mountain area and Foothills of the Alps.
Germany has nine neighboring states: Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic,
Austria, Switzerland,
France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands. Thus, Germany
is the country with the most
European neighbors. In the north of Germany shares borders with
Denmark (on a
Length of 67 kilometers), northeast of Poland (442 Kilometers),
the east by the Czech Republic (811 kilometers), in Southeast
by Austria (815 kilometers, with no limit in the
Lake Constance), on the south by Switzerland (316 kilometers,
with Buesingen boundary of the enclave, but without limit in Lake
Constance), in the southwest of France (448 kilometers),
on the west by Luxembourg (135 kilometers) and Belgium (156 Kilometers)
and in the northwest of the Netherlands (567 Kilometers). The
total border length is 3757 kilometers (without
Boundary in Lake Constance, see Condominium). During the tumultuous
history changed
